Sheridan is an incorporated city and the seat of Sheridan County in north-central Wyoming, at an elevation of 3,757 feet at the eastern foot of the Bighorn Mountains.
It sits roughly halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Mount Rushmore and is the sixth-most populous city in Wyoming. Sheridan is the Bighorn Mountain ranching town known for the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, the 1893 Sheridan Inn that Buffalo Bill Cody managed, and the Kendrick mansion at Trail End. Trail End State Historic Site: The Flemish Revival home of cattleman, governor and United States Senator John B. Kendrick, built 1908 to 1913 and ready for occupancy in July 1913. It is 13,748 square feet, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 26, 1970, and became a state historic site after the state took ownership in 1982.
